WELCOME TO DACAL
The main objective of DACAL is to identify learning problems that a child is facing, plan an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and after 1-2 years of rigorous intervention, re-integrate them into the mainstream education system.
In 2011, about 20 over-aged boys of Standard VIII, facing expulsion from school for academic failure and behavioural issues were put together as an experiment under the guidance of Ms. Sadiya Saleh, Senior Consultant on Special Education. They were identified as Learning Disabled. A curriculum was drafted accordingly and the remediation process began. Thus, the Darul Ansar Centre for Applied Learning (DACAL) came into existence.

Darul Ansar Centre for Applied Learning (DACAL) – A Unit of The Anjuman-e-Himayath-e-Islam (AHI), is a resource centre catering to children with Learning Disabilities (such as dyslexia). We provide various individualised learning programs for children according to their specific needs, while retaining a regular school setup.

We strive to tap the talent in every child with love, kindness, compassion, support, guidance, and professional help to enable him/her to overcome the challenges arising from learning disabilities.
We aim at the holistic development of every child so that he/she leads a productive, purposeful, and meaningful life thereby serving society at large.
OUR APPROACH

We teach students aged 5 to 18 in small ability – appropriate groups

We offer individualised, structured and concept-based learning environments that focus on academic, behavioural and transitional goals.

A highly trained, caring team of special educators work closely with all the students to facilitate the transition from our centre back into the mainstream system of education.

A multi-sensorial approach is used, coupled with easy, effective and innovative teaching methodologies.

For the students who may not be able to achieve academic efficiency and functional literacy, vocational skills are imparted additionally to enable a level of complete independence.
